Student Resources

The Big Brain Club has grown over the years, but one thing hasn't changed: our commitment to helping students become the best versions of themselves. Within this site you'll find all sorts of interesting tools, tips and stories to help you get your nerd on -- and we mean that in the coolest way possible.

You don't have to choose between being smart and being cool. You can do both, and besides, 'dumbing down' just to impress others isn't going to make you cool anyway. If you really want to impress people, work hard at being the best version of yourself in every way that you can.

With that in mind, here are a few things that we offer to help you along the way:

Articles and Essays

Great information on a wide range of topics, and often including contributions from industry professionals and celebrities.

Celebrity Profiles

From movie stars to professional athletes, you might be surprised to learn which of your favorite stars are also big brains.

Extra! Extra!

We needed a place to keep all the other fun stuff that doesn't fit in the other categories... so this is where we keep that stuff.

The Big Brain Club In Schools

Since expanding in 2010, The Big Brain Club is now much more than an online community. We are now also a hands-on program provider for middle schools looking to embrace their creative side. By professionally publishing the creative writing of young students, donating high-tech learning tools to classrooms and visiting hundreds of schools each year to talk about the importance of recognizing that smart is cool, The Big Brain Club is leading the charge against 'dumbing down' in school.

You can visit the In-School Program page to learn more about what we do, and you can go here to read about our recent partnership with Colorado's Preston Middle School.

So... is The Big Brain Club on your campus yet?

Other Great Resources

Believe it or not, The Big Brain Club is not the only organization out there helping students learn to love (and improve) their writing. Here are a few other places you should check out.

750Words.com

It's a totally private site that challenges you to write at least 750 words per day. Sound like a lot? It isn't. 750 words is about 3 pages. And don't worry... no points off for poor grammar or spelling.

NaNoWriMo

Every November is National Novel Writing Month, where writers are encouraged to crank out a first draft in just 30 days. But even during the other 11 months, this website has plenty to help you with your writing.

826 National

The writer and filmmaker Dave Eggers started a writing workshop near his northern California home a few years ago, and now it's exploded into a nationwide clearinghouse for workshops, tutoring, publishing and more.
