Want to Hear a Funny Story?

So last Friday night I was fortunate enough to give the keynote address at the excellent Northern Colorado Writers Conference in Fort Collins. We shared a few laughs, a few stories. We met new people. It was a good time.
The theme of the conference this year was Passport to Writing. So with that in mind, I talked with the audience about the various 'stamps' that writers need to collect on their 'writing passport' -- in other words, the things you need to check off your list before you can really call yourself a writer.
That topic led me to tell a story about an ill-fated trip to Canada several years back, which didn't go the way I'd planned. I just posted the video on my YouTube channel, and you can watch it right here. I hope you get as many laughs from it as the good people of NCW did. At least half a dozen people approached me to talk about it the next day, and some were still chuckling as they did.
Anyway, enjoy. And for those aspiring writers that are based in Fort Collins or the surrounding areas, I encourage you to get involved with the Northern Colorado Writers. Trust me -- you'll be glad you did.

It was such a pleasure (and very entertaining) having you as our keynote speaker. I hope you visit us at next year's conference where I plan to teach a poetry workshop. :)
