There truly are no age restrictions when it comes to innovation.

A pair of 17 year-old Canadian boys built a homemade spacecraft for a plastic Lego astronaut, and then successfully shot him 15 miles into the stratosphere. They even managed to return the Lego man back to Earth unharmed.

Matthew Ho and Asad Muhammad crafted a Styrofoam spacecraft and attached it to a weather balloon they ordered online. They then fitted a box with four cameras and a GPS tracking system, armed the brave Lego man with a nylon parachute, and filled the balloon with helium purchased at a party supply store. The entire enterprise cost less than $500.

All of this led to a pretty spectacular 97-minute journey above the clouds. You can see two minutes' worth of highlights in this video, which has already logged nearly two million views in less than a week:

It just goes to show you that in this day and age, with access to so much information and so many creative outlets, your ability to do something spectacular is limited only by your imagination and your persistence. As Matthew and Asad have shown us, not even the sky is the limit.
