By now, nearly everyone is aware of Apple's latest techno-marvel, the iPad. It's been hailed as the next great gadget, and in just a few short months it's already become ubiquitous across the pop culture landscape. A popular sitcom even crafted an entire episode in which a central character goes to great lengths to get his hands on one.

But beyond the 'cool' factor, what sorts of applications will the iPad -- and for that matter, any other technological innovation coming down the pike -- have on education? This article from OnlineColleges.net addressed that very issue, and we thought it was worth sharing.

The article cites 10 benefits that today's college students will reap from the iPad. These include increased mobility and productivity, customized learning opportunities, and a revolutionary content delivery system. But some worry that all this technology only serves to distract students from the actual learning process, and that not every new gadget has a place in the classroom.

We'd like to hear from you. Are you in favor of iPads in the classroom for students of all ages, or would you rather see them restricted to high school and higher education? Your comments are always welcome, and your support is always appreciated.

The problem with asking this question for me is you can't make one over all decision on wether students are responsible eneogh to have this technology. There are people who are definetly not and there are people would be. One solution possibly would be to use them as a reward type deal. This may not be a good idea but you could use ipads as are reward for good behavior per say, you can't decide wether certain students are responsible eneugh based on how on school or class reacts because every group of students is different.
